A few of my colleagues have discussed taking out loans from their TSP to make it until we get back pay. The fed credit unions have also been a good resource for people IMO

At least in my agency I don't think any admin leave code was actually used - like drp folks continued to charge to their normal wbs's and hold down those EPs on their projects so no one else could use them

Just re-read the OP: didn't realize admin leave had a hard limit? Thought it was at least 90 days or something

Its basically voluntary admin leave - drp employees would get to stop working, but stay on the books until their resignation date while still collecting pay + benefits.
Normal ethics rules still applied and iirc in some cases they were told they couldnt start new jobs until they were separated.
