Vending enforcement is not ICE’s job. Rather, it is the job of Eric Adams’ agencies, but they prefer to shirk responsibility. We’ve been sounding the alarm for months, yet this administration’s inaction has practically invited ICE to come in and wreak havoc in our community. Shameful.
“You will see an increase in ICE arrests because there are so many criminal illegal aliens that have been released … and especially are being harbored in New York City,” Lyons said in an interview with Fox News.

“You will see us making the criminal arrests to make New York safe again,” he added.

As a current CUNY adjunct prof and alum, I cannot stress how much our city’s university was an afterthought for Cuomo during his time as Governor. That dismissiveness from yesteryear echoes in Rich’s comments on this today. CUNY deserves better. New York deserves better.
CUNY is the nation’s largest urban public university system and an engine of social mobility for the city's working class.

But like so many of our public institutions, Andrew Cuomo subject it to years of disinvestment and neglect as Governor. That record cannot be forgotten.
Cuomo’s controversial CUNY record resurfaces as affordability concerns dominate mayor’s race
Advocates, union leaders and lawmakers have criticized his previous push to cut state aid.
