If strategy games are more your thing, did you know MicroProse released a follow-up to Sid Meier's Pirates set in feudal Japan?

Sword of the Samurai is a wonderful game that evokes the Samurai epics while trying to stay grounded in history as you attempt to conquer your way into the shogunate.
Sword of the Samurai (1989) - MobyGames
Sword of the Samurai simulates feudal leadership in 15th century Japan. Players take on the role of a young samurai warrior with a small kingdom. You and your neighbors vie for land and perform feats ...

Hello, heist fans! On Nov. 9, Im teaching a virtual heist workshop!

I’ve done a terrible job promoting it because of book tour brain - so! If you are interested in writing heists, give it a look! Help me spread the word! (The art was 100% done on the run, btw!)

First, a Pablo Picasso stolen in mid-transport on October 17th, and now THIS?! I think we all know who is behind this. She's BACK! Be on the lookout for a dark-haired woman in red, driving a convertible, wearing a ruby necklace, who plays tennis, and likes tacos.

Was I the only one in kindergarten art class that was instructed to make ash trays for my parents? It wasn't just a ME thing, right? Other people had to do this? "Here, kids, encourage your parents to smoke." Looking back, it was a really warped thing to make kids do.

Oh no. Oh no no no no no.

Anyone who has watched my streams knows that Recettear is a huge part of my personality. I massively admired SpaceDrake for his pioneering localization work and just...for being such a cool, smart dude. I always hoped to meet him someday.
Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.

I forgot to mention it, but I finished Dragon's Dogma a few weeks ago. I liked it! It took a while to click with me, but once I got used to it, I really enjoyed the sort of cozy, familiar rhythm of the gameplay. Very "playing an MMO as if it was a single-player game" vibes.
