VoE's Kela boss fight mechanic callouts were feedbacked by me, and for 3 weeks I've been obnoxiously pleased that 1) they worked, 2) no one found them super annoying
You wanna know why we're having nag line discourse in 2025? Because developers know we're fighting an attention economy war we'll lose no matter what. Players don't read, have TikTok open next to them, god forbid we are scared you miss something and then blame us for not giving you all the info.

One of the constant refrains I repeated when I was a lead was yes, my team can pivot, yes, we are happy to rework an idea. But it’s going to take time. Changing any element in a story has knock-on effects.
It has occurred to me that a lot of things genAI is supposed to magically fix is really all down to bad planning and budgeting
And seeing how often bad project management comes down to directors thinking they should just be able to pivot by snapping their fingers, I don't think I'm entirely wrong >

I was Sebb for VoE table reads, when I finally heard @andrewrussell.bsky.social's recordings it made my whole month. he gave Sebb this charming choler always bubbling just under the surface, like a chihuahua barely able to contain the rage in its tiny body
There’s a point where a writer can hear the voice actor in their head as they write the character, yet every time I’ve experienced this I’ve still been delighted and surprised by the actor’s actual read!
