Customer service representatives stop misgendering people! I don't give a shit what their voice sounds like, if they tell you who they are then take them at their word. When the customer corrects you then use the correct pronouns. Get over your preconceptions about what a woman's voice sounds like.

Working my first shift in 6 months tonight. I have a job interview elsewhere in Tuesday. Boy I hope I get that job. Casual work sucks. Give me a part-time position so I have financial stability! Even better would be a predictable roster.

Dear corporations, stop telling us while we're on hold that we could use the app or website. If we could perform the task on the app or website we wouldn't be spending two hours on hold! No love, Me, after listening to your infuriating hold music and messages for over an hour!

Peter Dutton is campaigning during a natural disaster. How fucking tone deaf do you have the be?! People are suffering and he's blaming high inflation. You can't make this shit up!

I'd like to thank Australian ABC News for this morning's gem "the school has just over 25 students." WTF? Do they have 25.1 students? 26 students? Why would you phrase it that way instead of being specific? Does the journalist get paid by the word?

Four years ago, I was trying out a weekly release of audiobook-style narration, using short pieces from the public domain. One of them, shockingly relevant then and scarily relevant now, was Ur Fascism, written by Umberto Ecco.

It is, sadly, time to repost it.

Radio Free Burrito Presents: Ur-Fascism by Umberto Ecco
By popular request, here is Umberto Ecco's essay UR-FASCISM, published in 1995. In this essay, he talks about living in Fascist Italy as a child, growing up under that system during the Second World

Since a page is about to turn, I'll just say that I have less patience than I once did for unnecessary fights or with spending time here with people looking for them. If that's your thing, fine--everyone blows off steam in different ways. But I'm not here for that.

Why does Fitbit insist that I went mountain biking when I mowed the lawn? I try to edit the activity and it changes it to "outdoor biking". Okay sure, I pushed my Ryobi "bike" around in the heat. 🙄

Sitting in the living room on my computer listening to classical music, I just said out loud “Damn, this Vivaldi slaps. Let’s run that back.”

And now I’m just so sad that my son wasn’t in the room to be horrified by that.

For no particular reason, I want to point out that, if you're using your speaker phone in public, you're not actually having a private conversation, and any expectation that others shouldn't listen or contribute is wildly unjustified.

I was trying to think of something profound for my first post and gave up. I'm here, I'm alive, and I am ready to fight the patriarchy. Or maybe take a nap.
