Wow, how can people be so thick as to think intentionally spoiling votes is a good idea. If you want to voice your displeasure at the perceived lack of quality of candidates, do so with the parties directly who failed to offer a candidate to your liking. Spoiling votes is absolutely nonsensical.

A new “European Movement Canada” is being built.

"Canada must not be a spectator to history. Strengthening our relationship with Europe now is an investment in the stability and prosperity of our shared future.”

Why is public Irish media @news.rte.ie @rte.ie not changing its digital and social media strategy and is still sending public media audiences to places like X that now resemble Truth Social? It's using this platform but has not adapted share buttons or policy/playbook for journalists?

What's happening in LA is awful, and is hard to fathom the scale. The fact this is happening in LA though, affecting so many "celebrities" and people of influence, will this be a turning point in climate action discussions? Will the critical mass of influencers now be found to effect change?

Having not read the sentencing remarks, I’m cautious about rushing to conclusions, but on its face Feathers McGraw appears to be a prime example of the rampant sentence inflation that has led to chronic overcrowding in our zoos and the unedifying spectacle of animals being released early.
Curious to know whether
@barristersecret.bsky.social thinks 30 years behind bars for robbery and attempted murder was a fair sentence for Feathers McGraw? It seems a bit steep #WallaceAndGromit

Little personal milestones that mean a lot.

I used to read SO many music magazines when I was starting out so I still get a big buzz buying one that I’m in!

Thanks to @jazzwisemagazine.bsky.social for putting this really kind review of my new album in the latest issue.

Yeah, mostly. You can make one off payments to a person without one, up to 1000 euros, but it won’t allow you to save those details or setup a payee without one. It’s absolutely ridiculous. No other bank does this in 2024, it’s laughable
I laughed in horror.

Do AIB customers still have to use those little device things to transfer money?

Wow, this whole thread is….. quite something…
in other "look at where this guy comes from" news, Elon Musk's father just did a lengthy podcast episode that opens with the host saying "I bet the last time you had this many black people in your house someone was trying to rob you"

Band Aid 2024. The lyric “Well tonight, thank God it’s them instead of you”… that’s STILL a bit… much? I don’t know how that was allowed in 1984 but seems even worse now, and it’s far from the only questionable line. Good cause and all but just seems a little… insensitive?

Prevention? 🤣 Bit late for that if the videos going round are anything to go by.
Kerry County Council are urgently asking motorists to avoid Listowel Town Centre and Bridge Road areas to allow emergency service full access to carry out Flood Prevention Measures.

Ordering a JetBlack Victory trainer? Excited for mine, but the experience has been frustrating. Ordered in August, expected in October, then delayed 3 weeks that turned into 6. Still don’t have it. Shipped last Monday with DHL and literally has not left Germany in the week since. Open goal missed…

Woke up this morning to a "heavy" blanket of snow in north Kerry, had to drive daughter to school. No roads gritted/salted. This happened last time it snowed too. KerryCoCo knew the snow was coming and only started gritting AFTER the snow had come.
The N69 had kilometre long tail backs this morning

Oooh, custom domain handles on Bluesky.... nice!
November 19, 2024 at 9:26 AM
Wow, been on Bluesky for a year, it was very quiet for all of that so I was a very infrequent visitor. I’ve lost* HOURS to scrolling over the past day. What a change. It was 2am before I threw in the towel last night. It’s the best bits of the old world. (* no regrets)

Deleted my T*****r account some time back, it was a cesspit of awfulness, but I missed the pulse of what’s happening in the world for the days before Space Karen bought it. Feels like Bluesky is bringing all the goodness back though…
