It’s important to show up.

I can't cede my alumni grp (I'm the admin) or my diabetes community. I can't just go... my mental health can't take it. I'm blocking a lot of people and avoiding anything ad-like. I don't go on Xitter any more, or Insta. I'm on BeReal & here, so maybe in time. But my family is on FB, chosen & blood.

I canceled Threads, Facebook and Instagram the day Zuck announced there would be no more fact checking. It’s not an easy thing to do but it is the right thing to do.

Private groups can move to Discord or Slack if they really want to leave Meta.

Respectfully, the reason to boycott Meta is that your data is not safe. Full stop, period. I worked at Meta for 4 years — you can’t trust meta, especially now that they’re explicitly embedded with a political ideology & administration. It’s about protecting yourself from actual harm, not posturing.
