The AI industry is full of blatant lies, but the claim that we can reliably detect AI-generated writing is one of the worst. The idea that these pseudoscientific AI writing detectors are being used to justify punishing young people makes me incandescent with rage.

I genuinely think a lot of men hit their mid forties and have never nurtured the social skills to build deep and lasting male friendships, so suddenly they feel expendable. They look at young men with the envy and weariness of elderly lions. And instead of trying to adjust, they just explode.
Idly wondering: how much of the collapse of democracy is down to middle-aged men with full access to social media who are terrified that the world is passing them by?
