Brexit ‘badly damaged’ our economy says David Lammy, the deputy prime minister also says rejoining the EU customs union would boost economic growth. More and more people are realising the sky doesn’t fall in when you tell the truth about Brexit!

The Deep State is a conspiracy theory.

I know we all find Truss amusing, but I find it deeply concerning that you've got an actual former Prime Minister even saying this stuff.

European Central Bank officials are growing increasingly jittery as Kevin Hassett — a close ally of President Donald Trump with very little central bank experience — emerges as the frontrunner to lead the US Federal Reserve.

A politicized Fed could be bad news for central banks everywhere, officials fear.

So often we hear “I didn’t know anyone with ADHD when I was a kid” - yes, you did! It just went undiagnosed and they were probably struggling quietly & feeling very alienated.
Imagine saying that with cancer yet more and more people do “get” cancer now (down to diagnosis) that doesn’t make it fake.

Really annoyed about the direction Streeting is taking on neurodivergence and mental health. Anyone who thinks these are made up are clearly fortunate to have not experienced them and their - often devastating - impacts. But that doesn’t make them not real, it just makes you lucky.

When I’m in my office sometimes I hear this loud squawking sound & I said to my boss “is that a parrot?” & she was like “no it’s gulls!”
Well today I found out it IS a parrot. This massive beautiful blue parrot lives a few doors down from mr office in central Brighton.

Although Starmer is now more critical of Brexit, he is still couching it in terms of it being implemented badly, rather than inherently unworkable.

This is a gift to Reform, and makes it clear that Labour's Brexit position, if it's shifting at all, is doing so with the speed of continental drift.

I used to have a friend who was in the SWP.

This is (apart from the bit about the internet) exactly what he believed.

It's actually a deeply patronising, very middle-class, very rose tinted student-Marxist view of working people that is completely divorced from any experience of life.
Zarah Sultana apparently wants to nationalise the entire economy including the Internet.

One of my abiding impressions of Brexit is the way it slammed doors of opportunity in the faces of young people several rungs below Boris Johnson’s countless children on the ladders of privilege & advantage.

Yesterday Labour were crowing about how Britain is the first country to completely avoid Trump's pharmaceutical tariffs.

But ANYONE will bite your hand off if you're selling them £20 notes for a fiver.

So it was the easiest thing in the world for the Americans to sign and then fall about laughing.

Here's the unvarnished reality of yesterday's pharmaceutical trade deal with the USA: Labour caved in. Folded. Blew it.

To avoid Trump's tariffs, they have committed the NHS to paying very significantly more for new drugs ie all the lifesaving medicines of the future.

Hi couz! Yes apparently I am very distantly related to William Shakespeare. My aunt did the research we are descended from one of his cousins I believe.
I haven’t been to Stratford upon Avon in about 30 years so I had to get a pic of him today!

Signing up to the European Convention on Human Rights is a requirement for membership of the Council of Europe. The only two countries on our continent who aren't members of that Council are Russia and Belarus. Farage wants us to leave the rest of Europe behind and stand with Russia and Belarus.
