With all that’s been happening in the world, I was looking to spend some dollars in the appropriate direction; however, the brand that I’ve been stalking since its debut seems to be in trouble.

Uncle Nearest, what on earth?

Had a delightful interaction with an MTA Customer Service agent this afternoon. Yes, I’m as shocked as you are.

Since many of us are cancelling streaming services, I want to post a little reminder that many library cards will allow you free access to Kanopy, an amazing streaming channel.

If your library card doesn't work, you can often sign up for other libraries in your region.

Are there really no Black female cast members on SNL this season? 8 in 50 years is bad, Lorne. 0 in 2025 is egregious.

I was born and raised in the United States; I’m not new to capitalism. Present day levels of greed from formerly trusted institutions (the government, the media) is gobsmacking.

Capitalism has gone from a system that promised a lot to a few to something that runs the risk of destroying us all.

I spoke with legal and policy experts to break down what steps trans people should follow to update their passports right now and what risks they may face while doing so.

Read more here — and if you need to update an expiring passport, time is of the essence!
Trans people can obtain accurate passports again. Here’s how
The 19th spoke with experts about the window of opportunity — and risk — that exists while the State Department complies with a court order.

Still can’t believe Gunn found Corenswet by watching Pearl. Pearl!

Thank goodness David had that Julliard degree and a “choose your own adventure” granddad to keep things interesting.

I have a question: does the recent Supreme Court decision mean that Florida will no longer be the US capitol of Russian birth tourism?

Even with his relentless texting and $30 million, Cuomo lost. It’s a very fine day (despite the heat).

After dodging spoilers & discourse for months, I finally I saw Sinners. I’ll say briefly: I love me an unapologetically Black love letter to survival & the power of US (aka Black folk). And… that one scene/set piece?

I am so exhausted from always having to talk and think and vote about what we are AGAINST when all the exciting people who also want to talk about what we’re FOR keep getting shouted down or shut out. give us something to get fucking energized about so we see you fighting! let the new ideas in!
Democrats are having the silliest conversations right now. It's so frustrating! As a party, we don't look forward.

Where's our proposal to remake America? Our Project 2026? Project 2028?

The last time I saw anything like that from the DNC was Howard Dean's Common Sense for a New Century in 2002.

I had to manage the emotions of others on & off most of yesterday, negotiating a mix of obliviousness, I don’t need to process that, or it’ll be fine, all while: 1. remembering what the first go round looked like (inject bleach, cages, racism); 2. wanting to scream.

I expect more of the same today.
