Dismal week, so of course I'm celebrating the fact that I got apartment garden committee to approve my request for trimming a tree blocking our windows. Small wins!

I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to read Samantha Harvey's Orbital and Asako Yuzuki's Butter at the same time but it's an utterly confusing and glorious experience

If you've read either or both the books let me know what you think

Great in principle but most of us will then just go to the homepage
Netflix - please stop minimising the end credits of movies to suggest something else. Let viewers enjoy the soundtrack and see the cast and crew that worked on the film. We'll exit it ourselves when ready to.

For every noble or gentleman who did the 'Grand Tour', there was one or more servants who did it with them, but these men and women have been mostly invisible and unheard.

@richardjansell.bsky.social's new edition finally gives us access to their perspectives and their #WrittenWorlds!
My edition of four travel journals by 18th-c servants is out now, including accounts of France, Italy, the Low Countries, Germany and the Ottoman Empire by three valets and a maid – the majority of people who went on the 'Grand Tour' #skystorians #18thc #c18th global.oup.com/academic/pro...

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.
