One thing about watching this Indiana team this year is realizing how many cfb commentators don’t know ball at all, are dumb as shit, and rely too much on brands when sizing up teams. #iufb

there's probably going to have to be a new constitution (or extremely amended current one). When I say complete tear down, I mean complete tear down. The last 10 years have shown that the backstops put in to prevent exactly what founders were trying to prevent didn't work.

Listen, the sooner you get on board with accepting that we're going to have to do a full tear down and rebuild of the federal government, the easier it is to deal with the daily shit show. There's no going back to the way things were. That life is gone. Start thinking of how the next part will look.

Today’s Executive Order creating a *nationwide* military “quick reaction force” and setting up an online portal to permit random fascist vigilantes to join soldiers is one of the scariest things I’ve seen in U.S. politics in my adult life. Why is it not getting more attention?

On the other hand, students at Brown University could take direct action by spamming those comments, making them worthless as a tool of the investigative state.

Come on guys, time to think of creative ways to resist this madness!
the weaponization of course evaluations in the Brown University deal takes the consumerist model of higher education to new heights. not only is your job contingent on it, but make any of your students uncomfortable and you’ll be investigated by the government

The Wall Street Journal has published the most anti-science editorial I have ever seen, celebrating a victory against "climate imperialism" - ie. efforts to respond to an accelerating crisis that is endangering hundreds of millions of lives and is on course to end organised civilisation.
A Wall Street Journal editorial welcomes Trump admin plans to repeal the "endangerment finding" behind US climate regulations

Titled "Climate Regulation Liberation Day", it questions the "dubious proposition that GHGs pose a clear and present danger"…

“The only clue that users seemingly had of Siri's alleged spying was eerily accurate targeted ads that appeared after they had just been talking about specific items like Air Jordans or brands like Olive Garden,”
What a colossal gaslight that was.
So it appears Apple has "agreed to pay $95 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that its voice assistant Siri routinely recorded private conversations that were then shared with third parties and used for targeted ads."

But it was "unintentional," so don't worry about it...
Siri “unintentionally” recorded private convos; Apple agrees to pay $95M
Apple users may get $20 each for up to five Siri-enabled devices.

...until the land sink collapsed.

From 1990 to 2023, GHG emissions decreased 43%, more or less on track.

However, the sink has turned into a source, meaning net GHG emissions have increased 8% from 1990 to 2023!

This is Linda Martin. A few years ago, the FBI seized her life savings: $40,200.

The kicker: She was never charged with a crime—and the government couldn’t tell her why it took her money.

Martin is far from the first. But she is trying to make sure she is the last. A thread.
