I read half of @scalzi.com's "The Shattering Peace" in one sitting. I love this whole series. But every time Gretchen or someone talks about events from "twenty years ago" or whatever, I'm thrown off, only to realize, holy shit, it has been 20 goddamn years. I love it.

I know it's frustrating when lawyers point out when something the administration is doing is not legal. But responding with "the law doesn't matter anymore" is really unhelpful and defeatist. Clarifying the law is important because it reminds us not to comply in advance and to resist and take action

I think it does some real harm to someone's soul when they celebrate someone's death. No one is required to mourn, and can even feel relief, but celebration is harmful.

Every time I read a critique of the "Abundance" philosophy, my immediate thought is that the critic simply has not read the actual argument, only other critiques.
