Also there are so many people (rightly) pushing back against unpaid tests but I was recently asked to do an extremely predatory test (~ a month’s work in a week) and when I asked fellow game writers for advice was told that if I don’t do it, someone else will, because that’s just the industry now.

It’s both hilarious and horrifying that we all know EXACTLY which company this is. Have we all gone through their recruitment “process”? Should we form a support group?
21 months, 3 unpaid tests totaling 12,000 words, 3 interviews, like 4 separate ghostings, and 1 cold message from a recruiter who didn't know I'd already done all that later, I have finally been formally rejected from [COMPANY]. end of an era
