Author. Canadian. Mostly, I make The Ghost Story Guys Podcast and watch a lot of movies. I'm also co-writer of the retro horror fiction show "Fear Daily": https://podfollow.com/1755456394/view
KEEPER is kind of like a mash-up between Travis Stevens' A WOUNDED FAWN and the Hannah-John Kamen creature feature UNWELCOME, which I mean in a positive way. If you're into slow-but-spooky folk horror shot with Oz Perkins impeccable sense of style, make sure to check it out on the big screen

Finally finished my longest FEAR DAILY story to date! The 55-page ZETA HOUSE will be released in one single (likely 2 hour) instalment for Supercast/Apple Podcasts subscribers sometime in December, and six parts for public subscribers

Currently enduring my first experience of trying to get customer service from an LLM and boy I thought I hated generative AI before

Turns out, having a bodybuilder sitting next to you at the theater say, "Jesus dude, your arms are gigantic" sure helps with the old body dysmorphia

Everyone who gets into things like Oujia boards, channeling, or anything else that involves messages from what they think are spirits should read this book first. An incredible read
Just re-read_The Siren Call of Hungry Ghosts_ by Joe Fisher on a impulse, and man, that's a great and frightening book. If you have any interest in the #paranormal at all, it's a must read.

RIP Joe.

Found a bootleg copy of the 1988 TV movie I SAW WHAT YOU DID. It's frankly better than some theatrical releases I've seen lately and makes me wish even more that Vinegar Syndrome's TELEVISED TERRORS boxset had sold well enough to warrant a second volume

Watched @realgdt.bsky.social's FRANKENSTEIN last night and while obviously wonderful, what'll keep me going back is how he used a 200yr old horror story to show me my life, my old man's life, and that of every other son born to indifferent, absent fathers who then had to choose between life or rage

Speaking of horror movies, I had my doubts about the need for a sequel to BLACK PHONE and man was I wrong. BLACK PHONE 2 kicks all kinds of ass. Can't wait to pick it up on 4K

Hey Canadian horror nerds: the 2008 horror anthology series FEAR ITSELF, with installments from folks like Larry Fessenden, Brad Anderson, Ronnie Yu, Mary Harron, Ernest Dickerson, and a whole lot more, is now available on Prime. This one's been AWOL a long time

My favorite diner seems to be in the process of converting its overstuffed pop art aesthetic into an overstuffed AI slop one and I am now fully at war with the computer

Had a lovely afternoon speaking to the fine folks of the West Shore Rotary Club about making a living as a podcaster in 2025

To the woman sitting in front of me at a recent event who would whip out her extraordinarily bright phone to read erotica whenever her partner got up from his seat: good for you, girl

Found some vintage copies of Fate Magazine while cruising Brown & Dickson the other day. The temptation was strong

After months of there only being a handful of releases worth schlepping myself to theatres for, this week is an embarrassment of riches: LURKER and ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER tonight, Toronto Indie HorrorFest tomorrow, GOOD BOY on Friday, then the first 3 eps of TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN at the Revue Sat

If you can catch LURKER on the big screen before it hits Mubi on Oct 10th, I suggest you do so. There's something about not being able to turn away from all the starfucker awkwardness that makes it the kind of experience you can't replicate on TV. Truly a hell of a movie

After watching THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER TWO, I've instructed my friends that if I willingly pay to see CHAPTER THREE, they have to be waiting for me outside the theater with that bolt gun from NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

Finally went to go check out Museum London today

There's no surer sign it's time to go home than when, at midnight, you find yourself fascinated by a copse of trees at the darkest end of a parking lot

Did Paul witness a ghost in my apartment? Is Garth Brooks a serial killing vampire? Will people ever listen when we tell them to stay out of the woods? The answer to at least one of these questions is yes - find out which on the latest show, where we explore haunted British Columbia

Each alleged mass shooter is even more On the Computer All the Time than the previous one. Probably nothing to worry about there

Shocked by how much I liked the new TOXIC AVENGER flick. "Eat your fucking beard" alone made me laugh harder than anything in the original

Most of the time I'm not someone who pats themselves on the back. Every now and then, though, I'll cut a full hour out of a 1h43 minute recording session, listen to it to make sure you can't tell, and think to myself, "Man, you're a fucking wizard at this"
September 6, 2025 at 6:40 PM
After we finished recording the show earlier tonight, Paul looked up from his phone and asked, "who's over at your place?" I was alone and told him so. "Well a woman in a white dress just walked across the frame behind you." Cool. Cool cool
