Jane Goodall was a global legend at the forefront of discovery — breaking through barriers for women in primatology, science, and beyond.

Her curiosity, strength, and kindness changed the world, bridging countries and cultures in pursuit of a better future.

Deeply disappointed to hear that the Israeli Navy illegally stopped the Global Sumud Flotilla 75 miles off the coast of Gaza. This was a non-violent mission to break the IDF’s horrifying siege and deliver food and medicine to those who need it most.

sometimes i think about why the reason there isnt a substantial amount of older gay people is because the american government chose not to do anything about aids so it would kill all of them

Paperback books are like velveteen rabbits — ours to be loved and squeezed and read and stuffed into shoulder bags and left in the sun and read and read again until there's nothing left but memories from something real

You know how in finance there’s the idea that all of the stock market is a giant algorithm that uses all available info to pronounce the truth about the economy? It’s not surprising, I guess, that people view a different algorithm—that uses all available info to make text—as a truth-machine.

How do people with a straight face justify Israel's actions in Gaza? It's monstrous.

The people who worry me most these days aren’t the fascists - just because their positions are clear, and at least you can plan for them. The most worrying are people so obsessed with self-advancement that they will sacrifice every loudly-held position at a moment’s notice. They concern me the most.
Thinking about this war on disabled people that has been waged by successive UK governments: and how it’s always waged by people who are ashamed or afraid of one day not being wealthy, of not being “useful” to a capitalist system, who are desperate, and who project that onto the people they punish.

Small ways to care for community:

-Check on your neighbors
-Donate gently used/new clothing items to shelters
-Restock a community fridge
-Donate to a local food pantry
-Participate in a community clean-up
-Donate to mutual aid
-Volunteer at your local community center or library

Every act matters

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much
