Strawbs were one of the great heavy UK prog bands, and their early bluegrass-ish recordings (many of them only released much later) were equally good. An unjustly "forgotten" band. R.I.P. Dave Cousins.
Goodbye to Dave Cousins, whose death was announced earlier today. A prolific and forward-looking songwriter, I saw Strawbs in their '70s prog heyday and interviewed Dave on several occasions over the years, and got to know him a little. Lovely bloke.
