For a researcher and journalist for an organization designed around stopping hate towards oppressed groups Hannah showcases a lack of ability to listed to said oppressed groups.

If people want to mass block anyone who follows rightwingers, that’s their prerogative I suppose. But as a journalist who has absolutely zero problem following anyone I cover (white supremacists) from my main account, I’m 1) not changing 2) not apologizing. What do people think journalism is?
People are generating block lists based on follower lists, so I don’t recommend following reviled figures. I don’t have to monitor internet weirdos for work, but if I did, I’d prob just set up a dummy account.

Make sure you know who created the blocklists you use.
Please vet your blocklist creators before you implement a mute-list or blocklist. MAGA, foreign troll farms and other bad actors are working day and night to silence our voices.
