Contrast that last video to the view on the way back from North Berwick yesterday. Makes me wish I could paint.

Like... people should know that publishing IS a business and they do gamble/bet on authors who would bring in the bucks.

But apparently, a lot don't - and one-hit wonders are normally abandoned later. It's a horse race.

Please support both indie and trad. Not all have that luck and privilege.

Serious Apple. I work hard at accessibility for things I build. Meanwhile you do stuff like this. Bravo. These buttons are not in a disabled state.

I'm trying to get The Shape of Monsters tagged with the LGBTQ+ lable as I think it's struggling to find its queer readers.

Hopefully that tag will also help avoid the "1 star woke bs" reviews

I am excited to announce that I am now represented by Judith Murray of @greeneandheaton.bsky.social

I am hard at work getting my manuscript ready for submission for editors. Hopefully we will have more good news in the near future!

Exciting times ahead!

Woken by loud evacuation alarms coming from Ocean Terminal, Leith. (I went it check, looks like a false alarm.)

Sound travels strangely in a city. It’s actually louder here a few streets away than the street OT is on.

Good morning Edinburgh.

Extra early start at the office before work so I can get some words written. 6 weeks to hammer out this draft, 12 weeks to polish. Then sleep?

To be used on anyone who says they used AI for something ‘creative’, “Oh, so you’re a Slopper! Well, that’s nice,” and edge out of the conversation.
I could get behind this. Sloppers beware.
I saw somebody on TikTok using the word 'slopper' as a slur for people who use ChatGPT, and that's a thing we should start doing.

We’re so, so chuffed for Dave on this win! He’s part of the ESFF mod team and staff, and now we get to call him “award-winning author David Goodman” — how cool is that? Massive congrats from everyone at ESFF!

This @edinburghtrams.bsky.social tram needed a sleep in. Driver stopped too far along platform so had to lock front doors. The tannoy is announcing the wrong stops, and there is a physical out of service sign on the front, despite being full of passengers. Good morning!

Dear companies. If you excitedly tell me you’ve added AI to your product, this is not the must-have incentive you think it is. More of a complete turn-off, tbh.
