man, 2025 has truly been a banner year for people across the board first loudly and enthusiastically tripping over their own dicks, then meekly attempting to frame said dick-trippage as a genteel, perhaps even honorable sort of error born from being too innocently whimsical to have known better

Garbage are playing an Edinburgh castle gig next year. Feels like things have come full circle #garbage. Very excited.

As someone whose children were at Girl Guides Scotland, it impressed me that they were so open and welcoming.

To see this change now, because of *one* parent (presumably backed by a bitter GC terf billionaire) is genuinely upsetting.

I love bookshops, but especially indie bookshops for countless reasons @argonautbooks.bsky.social are such an important part of our community. Bookshops need space to breathe. Opening a big chain on their doorstop would be disastrous.

Contrast that last video to the view on the way back from North Berwick yesterday. Makes me wish I could paint.

Like... people should know that publishing IS a business and they do gamble/bet on authors who would bring in the bucks.

But apparently, a lot don't - and one-hit wonders are normally abandoned later. It's a horse race.

Please support both indie and trad. Not all have that luck and privilege.

Serious Apple. I work hard at accessibility for things I build. Meanwhile you do stuff like this. Bravo. These buttons are not in a disabled state.

I'm trying to get The Shape of Monsters tagged with the LGBTQ+ lable as I think it's struggling to find its queer readers.

Hopefully that tag will also help avoid the "1 star woke bs" reviews

Wooo! Another ESFFer with brilliant news! Congrats, Fi!
I am excited to announce that I am now represented by Judith Murray of @greeneandheaton.bsky.social

I am hard at work getting my manuscript ready for submission for editors. Hopefully we will have more good news in the near future!

Exciting times ahead!

Woken by loud evacuation alarms coming from Ocean Terminal, Leith. (I went it check, looks like a false alarm.)

Sound travels strangely in a city. It’s actually louder here a few streets away than the street OT is on.
