Oh noooo, I’m sorry!! I mean all her books are extremely worth it and joyous

I truly adore all of those books by her so when I tell you that this one blows them out of the water, that’s how stunningly good it is. It might be because I have so many mental health issues myself but it’s SO much. And friends I’ve got to read it also went feral which is a good sign.

Romance doesn’t magically heal your brain but compassion and support are so important and this book has that in spades.

Also I’ve just found this deliberately vintage bones alternate cover and teared up because it’s one of my favourite scenes.

It is funny and witty and sexy and but also deals with depression and trauma and mental health in such a compassionate and human way that so many other books can’t live up to. And it balances handling that pain honestly while not making the book a chore to read.

Well I’m glad there are lots if responses because “cow” and “mud splat” had not occurred to me, I was like, clearly this is a case of two hippos, one of which is chill and one of which does the murdering

What this also means is that whatever I read next will be very frothy, I learned the year I read The Day of the Triffids and scared the hell out of myself. Every noise I heard while alone in the flat was those fucking murder plants. (It’s a great book btw, a classic for a reason)
