1/Our client was notified tonight by White House staff in the personnel office that she was fired. As a presidential appointee, senate confirmed officer, only the president himself can fire her.
Abbe Lowell and I represent CDC Director #SusanMonarez. Contrary to govt statements, Dr. Monarez has neither resigned nor yet been fired. She will not resign. We have issued the following statement:

Work at NIOSH has been affected and will continue to be. A fraction of our staff has been reinstated (in a handful of divisions). Those returning will continue experiencing HHS-imposed paralysis. NIOSH was a very lean, interdependent organization- we require FULL restoration if they desire function.
Murray brings up NIOSH cuts, including Spokane office. No Western offices have been restored.
