“Physicians at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, say they’ve now treated a handful of unvaccinated children who were given so much vitamin A that they had signs of liver damage.”

Just because they are vitamins doesn’t mean they are harmless. This is so sad and avoidable!
For Some Measles Patients, Vitamin A Remedy Supported by RFK Jr. Leaves Them More Ill
After the health secretary promoted vitamin A as a cure, parents in West Texas began giving their children high doses, sometimes to prevent infection.

Tom Carroll's really showed that weight loss is way more complex than just diet. His unique approach proves we need personalized strategies for each client. Understanding the emotional side of eating, like Tom did, is key. @beh353.bsky.social

Reposting this because the anxiety around perfect eating is way more harmful than a few less-than-ideal meals. It's important to focus on nourishing our bodies without the added stress. @beh353.bsky.social
We talk about what to eat, but less about how we think about it. The stress, judgement & fear around food choices aren’t just exhausting—they make eating decisions harder. We don't think as clearly. We default to habits & jump to conclusions... That’s probably not helping anyone eat better.

I relate to the "time constraints" barrier. Between classes, work, and trying to have a social life, it's often easier to grab something quick and unhealthy than to prepare a healthy meal.

A key question I have after some initial research is: What are the long-term effects of maintaining such high-fat, low-carb diet on cardiovascular health.

It's a refreshing reminder that life isn't a one size fit all journey. Having options empowers us to make choices that suit our unique needs and circumstances. @beh353.bsky.social
Everyone wants to know what's the best. The best way to lose weight, the best food, the best diet...

But We don't all need to chase and promote one ultimate option.

What we need is options... choices. They don't need to compete or be ranked, they can just be tools we use when we need them.

I conducted a 24-hour food recall and found it fairly accurate but eye opening. It was easy to remember main meals, but I almost forgot small snacks and condiments. I realized how often I snack throughout the day. It was a revealing exercise in understanding my dietary habits. @beh353.bsky.social

I repost this because it is crucial reminder for healthcare professional to consider a patient's surgical history, as it can significantly impact nutritional needs and overall health. This awareness is key in providing comprehensive care.
🎃Anatomical Changes
Sometimes we forget to ask about past surgeries when patients are admitted for something seemingly unrelated. Short gut, precious Bariatric or other stomach surgery, appendectomies, can all change the way we digest and absorb nutrients.

This post really highlight the irony in our current societal priorities. While we focus on less critical issues liked banning TikTok, major problems like healthcare gun violence an climate change remain unresolved. Our leader should reconsider what matter most.
Nevermind Americas

Health care crisis
Inexistent maternity leave
Kids shot in schools
Raging climate crisis
Rising rates of food insecurity

Let’s ban TikTok! That will make things better!

Oh and hands off our guns!

Our leaders priorities are the best

When evaluating nutrition resources, ensure they come from credible sources like registered dietitians or reputable health organizations. Be cautious of sensational claims without evidence, such as promises of rapid weight loss or disease cures.
