Any mention of transgender people has been removed from the Stonewall National Monument website. It's an absolute disgrace - FACT is, transgender people were instrumental in Stonewall & the subsequent movement for civil rights for LGBTQ people.

By freezing federal funding, Trump is usurping powers that below to Congress, violating the Impoundment Control Act of 1974, creating a constitutional crisis, and sowing confusion and disorder.

A friendly reminder: your elected officials are supposed to serve you - and us. Start *telling* them what you want them to do. I recommend calling (or emailing if that's more comfy) & setting it as a daily to-do item. Here's how to find your Congressional reps:

Lil miffed at everyone who said that I would be asleep during my entire colonoscopy, wouldn't remember a thing, and would wake up "refreshed," because that is 900% NOT what happened today. Second time ever that I've been under sedation; second time I woke mid-procedure in discomfort & confusion :\

Writers: yes, you are still a "real" writer if you
- have never published anything
- have no readers
- didn't write anything this month
- didn't write anything this year
- can't articulate words anymore
- can only float and mournfully wail

What an incredible piece from Patrick Fealey, an award-winning journalist and writer, who became homeless last year. I often think about how wide the gaps are in Britain's social security net compared with Germany's. But America is truly in a different league.

This is such a good story, and at its core is something that I think the scale of online shopping often hides from us in plain sight: So much of the abundance it promises is just a lot of disappointing sameness in the end
New from me: Two influencers make very similar content promoting Amazon products. They dress the same. They buy the same stuff. They even have a similar tattoo.

Now one is suing the other, claiming her rival won't stop copying her. But who influenced whom? www.theverge.com/2024/11/26/2...

I mean, y'all - this is nearly an exact rendering of the owl that perches in the tree outside my house every evening, hooting sweet nothings to its lover:
it has been my goal as an artist to master realism - one of my favorite illustrations from last year’s bird calendar was the great horned owl, depicted below to the best of my abilities! please let me know if you have any constructive criticism!

I cannot recommend @tommysiegel.bsky.social's Extremely Accurate Birds calendar highly enough for anyone who enjoys birds and their very anatomically correct lil legs 'n buns:
and PS: my 2025 Extremely Accurate Birds calendar is out now! Tasteful, accurate, and the perfect gift for any bird lover like me — or great as a white elephant gift! Many seem shocked these are illustrations and *not* photos!
