I hadn’t really watched any highlights of the game winner until now. I didn’t realize at the time how Samberg (who I adore as a player) completely lost situational awareness on the game winning goal. He was the #NHLJets best PK player all season but he broke down at the worst possible time

It feels like the #NHLJets have to work incredibly hard to generate the very little offence they can, whereas Dallas goes long stretches of doing nothing but then pounce.
In that sense, this has to be a frustrating 2-1 deficit for Winnipeg, who have largely carried play.

Toninato over Gustafsson seems strange. Toninato’s the veteran in that he’s older, but Gustafsson has played 80% as many career games and more career playoff games than Toninato.
Scott Arniel also referred to Logan Stanley as a gametime decision but it seems Haydn Fleury may draw in instead.
Declined to clarify his fourth line, where it seems Dominic Toninato may keep his spot between Brandon Tanev and Alex Iafallo.

Blues are over-persuing the puck on offense.. So if the Jets can stay confident and patient, they may be able to counter-punch the Blues to get on the board.
Problem is the Jets defense as set up doesn't really inspire confidence.

Brandon Tanev has never really generated offence at 5v5, but at least was good defensively in 2016-19 with WPG. That is not the case in 2022-25 with SEA.
But he plays lots of SH minutes! Must be worth a 2nd.

Brandon Tanev, acquired by WPG, is a speedy and physical forechecking winger. Still a dog off the puck but it hasn't added up to the excellent defensive impacts it used to lately. The tools are still there for him to be an effective fourth liner though. #GoJetsGo
