This afternoon my yellow lab mix, Lily, had to be put down. She had a tumor on her liver and her adrenal gland and was losing weight. She had a very long life; she was 10 years old and was a good dog I miss her so much.

I co-wrote a book about Al Adamson with Bill Ackerman for Severin's beautiful boxset. Bill spent some time with Sam Sherman, who was Adamson's producing partner. He was forthright and most generous with this time. We really came to love both of these wild and unique men. What sad news. RIP
Fango is sad to hear of the passing of producer/raconteur/exploitation legend Sam Sherman of Independent-International Pictures (DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN, SATAN’S SADISTS, NURSE SHERRI). Sam was truly one of a kind. Our condolences to his daughter Stephanie and to his legions of friends and fans.

I've been depressed the past few days. My sister is a meth addict and was stealing from our mother to support her habit, it's awful. 😞

Although I mostly post fluff, today is what Bluesky is for. To know you are not alone and that it's OK to feel sad, alienated, angry and scared. Not sure what the future looks like, but it is nice knowing you're not alone.

For day 145 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose the oddball 1985 drama Playing with Fire, which features Gary Coleman as a teen arsonist. This is a strange film and not wholly successful, but it is really fascinating and Coleman goes for broke
