Trump's T1 phone was already gaudy but it's shaping up to be a bit scammy too. Who'd have thunk?

A bag of Cheetos typically has a 40/60 snack-to-air ratio. Chester Cheeto calls this "puff protection". I think he's feeding us lies.

Come to think of it, this isn't the first Cheeto-themed windbag to have lied to me...

A vast amount of cheap—what I'd call junk—electronics are thrown away every day. If it's easy to buy, it's easy to throw away because it'll have zero resale value and no sentimental value.

I'll leave something in my basket and see if I still want it in a couple of days. The answer is often "no".

PSA: HomePod tweeters are excellent speakers. Those threads at the bottom aren’t just for securing the tweeters to the HomePod frame, they’re also the speakers positive and negative terminals.

I love Apple's attention to detail. They'll spend time and money on internal aesthetics that most will never see.

I also love shattering that illusion whenever I can. Underneath that shiny heat spreader, the M4 SoC looks decidedly un-Apple like in that puddle of bland green.

The reverse side of the RF board shows the rest of the chips needed for the modem to work: The PMIC and RF transceivers, both new Apple designs fabricated by TSMC. Together, these three IC's for the C1 subsystem.

The C1 modem die, designed by Apple and fabricated by TSMC, is packaged together with a DRAM die made by SK Hynix.

Apple's C1 modem isn't on the bleeding edge of chip fabrication technology but it comes darn close and it's fascinating to see under x-rays.

There was a time when I’d be eyeball deep in .ini files trying to get my rickety old PC to run Oblivion by stripping the graphics settings to the bone. It blows my mind that I can now play Skyrim on Ultra settings on a @frame.work 13…

I feel old.

The iPhone 16e is rated for 26 hours of video playback when compared to the iPhone 15's 20 hours. And no wonder, look at the size of that battery!

Big hardware reveal in progress @frame.work. Another 10/10 for repairability?

About $3. That's the absolute max Samsung saved by cutting BT from the S Pen. The real savings are probably far less, these are very rough back of napkin calcs.

Based on S24 Ultra sales of 16.8m units to date, that would net them $50m in savings.

Samsung's decision to nerf the S25 Ultra S Pen is perplexing, especially when you realise the hardware is pretty much still there minus the capacitor and some IC's.

They no doubt saved a few dollars on a phone that retails for $1400...

Then there’s the price tag. $500 for what? The highly touted ANC upgrade over the EX appears to be the result of three upgraded MEMS mics—the only hardware change we could find—and extensive software updates. Compare that to 0/10 AirPods 4 ANC at less than half the price.
