No country or governmental system is infallible. Because people are not infallible. We cannot speak of America’s greatness through willful ignorance. We must speak of America’s ability to change, to do better, to uphold the value that ALL PEOPLE are created equal.
So............ I have to teach about the U.S. Constitution today to an introductory level class.

Let’s not let politicians distract us from their failures to address the important issues for parents and families such as keeping students safe from gun violence, providing adequate resources for public schools, and fixing educator shortage and pay issues.

The Trump Administration is now threatening to withhold funding from schools that teach the whole history of America. This executive order is unnecessary and punitive. It does nothing to help educators inspire their students to learn and to give them the resources needed to succeed.

not that this particular mechanism really matters anymore but demanding that federal employees take a loyalty oath to the president is imo an impeachable offense
Anyone who takes a loyalty oath to Trump should be prevented from ever holding a position of trust in the federal government. It’s absolutely disqualifying.
Again, when we have power again, every single federal employee hired under Trump must be immediately fired and replaced by people who care about liberal democracy

If you’re a federal employee, you should know this is a lie. Congress hasn’t appropriated these monies and so it’s literally not there to be spent. Also, federal agencies are limited by law to a max $25K payout in the case of restructuring.

Vouchers have been a catastrophic failure—everywhere. They drain funding from neighborhood public schools, where 90% of students learn, and leave behind those who need support the most. If Trump were serious about helping kids, he'd invest in smaller class sizes, educator pay, and more resources.
