Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

A Canadian doctor explains the difference between the universal health care system in Canada, where everyone is covered and there are no out-of-pocket costs, and the American system where people go bankrupt in order to receive cancer treatment.

“The media” is 90 pct either right-wing and/or corporate.

And 9pct of the other 10pct feels a need to “show balance”

There is no media.
everyone screaming about Dems not doing anything but Bernie and AOC had a rally in Tempe last night with over 15k people and they probably could have put in another 15k based on the lines and the media isn't even covering it. Not on any front page anywhere.

The problem is not just Dems.

Your regular reminder that the US air & water pollution laws passed in the 60s & 70s -- and the elaborate federal bureaucracy created to administer them -- constitute one of the most successful gov't interventions in history. WILDLY successful. The envy of the world.

Happy Black History Month! Here is my favorite story about a Black American you may not know about: Robert Smalls. He commandeered a confederate ship and sailed himself, his family, and the other enslaved crew and their families to freedom. THROUGH waters controlled by the Confederacy.

Remember when South Korean lawmakers mobilized in the middle of the night to protect their democracy? And people showed up in droves to protest the power grab?

That was 2 months ago. I can’t stop thinking about it; it’s still inspiring.

As expected, the Trump team is already deleting climate info from government websites. In anticipation, our team at Urban Ocean Lab created a permanent archive of 100+ key resources and published a permanent archive: www.urbanoceanlab.org/resource-hub 👩🏽‍💻
