Oddly enough, I saw a story last week saying that Hutchie is to move its nursery and primary departments to their Beaton Road HQ, meaning the former girls' school, in Kingarth Street, will soon be up for grabs.

I'm saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Elspeth King, the legendary curator of the People's Palace, and a fierce advocate for Glasgow and its history.

This was fascinating on the release of the film adaptation of Alasdair Gray's "Poor Things".

#OTD in 1938, the gates finally closed on the Empire Exhibition, in Bellahouston Park.

As the last floodlight was turned off on Tait's Tower, a lone voice rang out in the hushed darkness: 'Let the spirit of the Exhibition live on...'
