A contributor has had to withdraw from something I'm editing, late in the day. I'm looking for a sprightly 10,000 book historical words on the broad theme of 'consumers/consumption' and the period 1450-1650 (not necessarily all of it).

‘Fragment of a Queen’s Face’

Timeless beauty from Ancient Egypt, c. 1390–1336 BC.

Yellow jasper exquisitely sculpted and polished to achieve a mirror-like surface. The identity of this royal woman is uncertain. The Met, photo by me.

Something that always surprises me all over again about writing is how much bravery is required. Sending good vibes and solidarity to anyone else trying to write the conclusion to a piece of work that has taken many years to come together. Courage calls to courage everywhere! Your work matters! 🗃️

Are you, or is someone you know and like, a UK literary agent who might be interested in a Victorian sports history group biography project? If yes, I am all ears and fingers and enthusiasm!

It's got dirty murder, mayhem, and a guy fighting a beer-drinking donkey who wore boxing gloves. Thanks.
