Trump's approval ratings are tanking. He's flailing on the economy. He hasn't done squat to help working people. The Epstein scandal haunts him.

Remember that every authoritarian action Trump is taking must be understood against the backdrop of his declining popularity.

Trump’s Tariffs Are Latest Sign of His Second-Term Appetite for Risk
President Trump’s announcement went beyond most predictions, showing a greater willingness to follow his instincts even when critics — and some allies — consider failure a likely outcome.

So, Mayor Adams had all charged dropped against him after he kissed the orange ass at Mar-a-Lago and he now wants to run again, this time as an independent. Coincidence? I think not. New York has to do better than this. NYC can do better by picking a random person off the street as Mayor.

This is one hundred percent a case of a man completely obsessed with the idea of tariffs being told "no, bad" by every single smart person around him, and the flip to "it's gonna cause some pain" rhetoric was when they finally got through to him.

But his stupid stubborn ego won't let him back down.
