Amazing! From a C21st viewpoint, it’s tempting to assume that C19th sportswomen were all cowed victims of patriarchal fashion, with no choice but to exercise in long skirts & corsets. Nope! Sportswomen were ingenious at adapting & creating cutting-edge garments to balance their complex requirements
