Ummm…white collar workers are not “reading a lot of stuff and changing it into plain English.” They’re reading stuff, comparing, contrasting, making judgement calls about what’s useful & correct & relevant and sometimes (if things are going good) making creative leaps. LLMs do almost none of that.

Yes, and this instinct the Dems had (and still have) to just say “ignore it; it’s just a distraction” really bites them in the ass sometimes. Like yeah, it’s demeaning to have to engage with their lies, but not engaging means it can start to take on a feeling of truth to folks who aren’t plugged in.

I think there’s also the fact that there’s a direct line between his policies and a quickly crashing economy that he can’t blame on a pandemic this time and so he’s bleeding goodwill on that front too. Folks might overlook it their groceries really WERE getting cheaper.
