Most of the time I'm all about customising a character I can RP and relate to, but Disco Elysium is a great counterpoint to that approach - you are dropped into the life of this wretched, hairy, dysfunctional little guy, and get to spend the whole game asking: "what the fuck is wrong with you?"

One of the things that's amazing about DS9 is that they understand the Ferengi can be nails on a chalkboard, both to the other characters and the audience, and turn it into an actual thematic keystone. Like "Oh you believe in co-existence with other cultures, how about these awful dudes who suck?!?"
