We need more safeguards to prevent system of abuse. That whole trial was unsettling and uncomfortable to witness. You don’t need a background in criminal law to experience it ether.
In all my years of doing this work, I know very few people whose rapist was convicted.
Every single one of them told me they regretted calling the cops anyway.
Imagine how most survivors feel.
