“Trump has undertaken a campaign to force trans people out of public life… The point of the executive order was not to restore ‘historical facts’ but to enforce a gendered social hierarchy and to punish those who do not conform to it.”

Gender policing is authoritarian. We must refuse this politics.

Around the world, people who seek asylum are unable to get protection because governments remain hostile to their presence. We need to challenge politics that treats refugees as threats or inconveniences. Governments need to treat them as people entitled to safety and freedom. It’s just that simple.

“The anti-trans movement likes to cloak its transphobia & transmisogyny in a patently genocidal language of social contagion… The language of modern day transphobia is very similar to National Socialist views on homosexuality.”

Transphobia is rooted in recycled homophobia. It belongs in the trash.

On Intersex Remembrance Day, we remember past harms and celebrate progress. Europe has taken a historic step and adopted the first-ever Recommendation protecting intersex people’s human rights. Here’s Kitty Anderson, co-chair of European intersex organisation @oiieurope.org, on what this means.

A Tamil organisation in Sydney invited me to a dinner honouring “high achievers in the Tamil community.” Considering my achievements revolve around being unapologetically gay, and growing up Tamil with no “out” gays in my community, it’s so lovely to have my work recognised by fellow Tamil folks. 🥰

When white people react with hostility to sharing space with Black and brown folk, they don’t care if those folk were born here, migrated legally, or are “illegal aliens.” They only see non-white faces who “don’t belong in their space.” This is why “ordinary concern” about migration is basic racism.

“Every meme, post, and story we share becomes part of a living queer archive. And for groups too often erased from official records, that kind of self-documentation is revolutionary. Queer people have always found creative ways to communicate and protect each other…”

Worth pointing out the biggest supporters of trans people (which is who bigots mean by “gender ideology”) are bisexual & lesbian women. All the public “concerns” about trans people (phase, indoctrination, regret, etc) are recycled forms of homophobia. This is why LGB solidarity with the T is strong.

If you blame migrants collectively for the horrible actions of a few but do not hold white people collectively responsible when white people commit heinous crimes, that's racism. Just saying.

“It remains my opinion, based on the data we now have, that the only way to fix the scale of this problem is by adopting a GP-led, informed consent model.”

Trans folks are struggling to access basic healthcare in the UK. We need structural political and medical changes to make care more accessible.

“Access to gender-affirming care for transgender youth will be dramatically restricted by the Trump administration under new proposals by the Department of Health and Human Services.”

The ongoing political attacks on young trans people are designed to erase their existence. This is painfully clear.
