I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

This is an excellent piece on the purge of public servants from the federal government.
So many dedicated and talented people pushed out. We are worse off without their skills.

The Purged
Donald Trump’s destruction of the civil service is a tragedy not just for the roughly 300,000 workers who have been discarded, but for an entire nation.

ICE could start by taking a harder look at its own ranks. Here’s a thread of CBP/ICE officers who have been arrested for sex crimes while serving as federal law enforcement. bsky.app/profile/paca...
Noem: "Every single thing I've said has been factual about what's been going on in Mpls, in Minnesota...we've surged HSI there to focus on sex trafficking & child trafficking. It's so prevalent in MN. It's horrific...we're gonna keep hundreds of HSI officers there to continue to protect those kids."

Want to Stop ICE? Go After Its Corporate Collaborators.
ICE can’t function without help from the private sector. So we should force the private sector to stop helping.

ICE shot and killed a woman on camera today. We all saw the video.

The Trump administration is lying.

I'd like to dispute this statement though. I'd also like to dispute this use of the word "facts." I'd also like to dispute that Dems are lecturing people on affordability. What would that even mean? Would it be telling them to buy fewer Christmas presents? Because someone's been doing that recently
Mike Johnson: "These are the facts and they're undisputed: They broke the economy and now they want to lecture to the American people about affordability."

But Mike Johnson told me they already had a plan done?
Status update on House Republicans and a health care plan, after this morning’s conference meeting:

“The consensus is we need to come up with something,” Rep. Ralph Norman says.

“The FIFA Peace Prize has a great history. People have been saying I should get this. It’s better than the so-called Noble Peace Prize. I stopped another war just this morning and you know how important that is for soccer, or football as some people call it. Not many people know that.” /s
Q: Mr President, have you been told that you're going to receive the inaugural FIFA peace prize today?

TRUMP: I have been told. There's a rumor about it. That would be a great honor.

Does he think free market, increasingly unregulated, capitalism requires Presidential approval to build smaller cars? Does he think that’s why auto manufacturers haven’t been making them??

This allows Trump (via DOJ) to use taxpayer money to bribe eight GOP Senators. It's that simple, there's no other way to describe it.

And where's the compensation for people injured by the Trump admin's unlawful conduct through DHS & DOGE?

Take a bow, @schumer.senate.gov, you did this.
November 10, 2025 at 9:23 PM
What guardrails are you going to put in place that the Admin will abide by? Congressional Republicans have shown no desire to do anything but cede power to the Admin, the Supreme Court is rubber stamping it all, and Congressional Dems seem to be modeling everything after the Susan Collins approach.
2. We need to move big appropriations bills that restore spending with strong guardrails to curtail Trump/Vought mischief. Boring but very real.

Here’s the thing, we all sacrificed for over a month to give you the leverage and you were winning! You finally had clear leverage and threw it away.
No one’s feelings are wrong. That’s not my point. We’re in a real battle, against a corrupt and malevolent foe, with huge stakes. We must win.
November 11, 2025 at 2:36 AM
But are you aware that people are pissed because 8 Senate Dems voted to sell out Americans? Voters turned out for you all and were promptly sacrificed. What on earth makes you think we can survive until next November? People are being kidnapped off the street while you lecture us.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Are the people on Americans’ side in the room with us right now, Jeanne?
Democratic Senator Shaheen says ending the shutdown wasn't a failure because it achieves a later vote that will get Republicans on the record.

This does not put us on a path to fixing Republican’s healthcare mess. You got a promise (from people notorious for breaking their promises) for a vote that has no path to succeeding in either house.

Do you think baseless firings of federal employees were legal before this? Because it wasn’t.

I read an interesting perspective a few years ago that part of the reason Republicans are so opposed to social programs is because they want people to have to rely on churches to survive to build congregations and exert control over people. Seems to be the quiet part out loud here…

November 2, 2025 at 11:57 PM
Then why doesn’t he use this platform to demonstrate that it was adequate?
Mike Johnson dismisses concerns about Trump's lawless deadly strikes on boats: "My Democrat colleagues would come out of any hearing with the administration and say it was inadequate. I mean, it's politics."
November 2, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Aside from the obvious that there is no plan, if you’re an elected official that thinks you need to hide and protect your policy positions then you’re not suited to serve as anyone’s representative and your policies must be awful and unpopular.
Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."
