This is as shocking and unexpected as Trump immediately embracing the Project 2025 playbook that he disavowed during his campaign. As incomprehensible and unlikely as the billionaire who funded the campaign pulling the puppet strings now. I mean, really, who could foresee any of this?
Some federal employees who accepted Trump’s buyout offer are now being notified that their buyout has been denied, and they are being terminated instead.

Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions. They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.
