Didn’t watch a lot of Christmas stuff, but these 2 are always fun with family. Killer Of Sheep haunted me and left my heart aching for my parents and some struggles I still have today. The Caller, simply put, is a banger. The less you know beforehand the better.

Not much spooky viewing this year, but plan to binge all day. Still, a brilliant Japanese raw punk film, revisiting a classic, an explosive modern classic, and finally watched the wonderful Elaine May duo of Falk & Cassavettes have given me a lot to think about.

Lucile Hadžihalilović’s latest work is a mesmerizing exploration of obsession, identity, & the allure of the unattainable.

Busy few weeks, but glad I finally watched this string of films. Interesting to see how Argentos evolved as a filmmaker. Eagerly awaiting future Louis-Seize projects. And wow. Last Unicorn. Just wonderful.

Horror in tough times helps, especially psychosexual deep dives within a marriage a la Black Room. Unhinged meandered but the exposition was fascinating and the finale blew me away–Worth. Ben Foster is king in Hostage, and Z channel was inspiring and heartbreaking.

Been an emotionally complicated week, and I think these films reflect that. A strangely prescient anime charged with the current state of the world, a surreal purgatory-esque depiction of cinema and life, a ruthless fun western classic, and a somber American dream.
