I obsess over a lot of things, so you’ll see retro games and anime, horror movies and not. Don’t be surprised if you see me fixate on something not on this list.

Didn’t watch a lot of Christmas stuff, but these 2 are always fun with family. Killer Of Sheep haunted me and left my heart aching for my parents and some struggles I still have today. The Caller, simply put, is a banger. The less you know beforehand the better.

Zootopia 2 is the highest grossing Hollywood movie of the year & Kpop Demon Hunters was Netflix's most popular movie of all time, but fuck animators, am I right? I hate reading about how huge & beloved this stuff is while knowing how hard creators have it & how it still isn't broadly taken seriously

This is a decision that can only happen when the people who founded the company lost sight of the reason they established this tier / how they themselves started. The whole reason that simulcasting+free ad-supported tiers were innovated in the first place was to deter people from pirating the shows!
Crunchyroll Announced that they are ending the Free Ad-Supported Streaming on December 31st, 2025

(This allowed you to watch certain titles for free without an active sub with ads)

As of reporting there is no changes with the other tiers

Haven’t done a #LetterboxdFriday in a while, but here are my #LastFourWatched. A cool mockumentsry with some genuine scares, and an awesome animated film I regret I didn’t see sooner. Oh my god, The Mercenary - bellissimo. Finally, a hyper impactful Bogdanovich flick. Very nearly my favorite of his.

#RandomGameSaturday this is always sitting on my desk. I’ve always been bad at paper YGO but I’ve loved many of the games throughout the years, and this is where it started. Repeatedly played through and experimented and tested out as many card codes as I could I find.

I’ve always been extremely fascinated with media tie-in/licensed video games and I haven’t been able to find a good recent article or video exploring them. Maybe I’ll have to write one up myself 🤔

There are so many classic films that I continue to put off just because I’m dying to see them for the first time in a theatre. I need to accept that it’ll most likely not happen, especially in my town, so I just gotta go for it.

I just watched The Mercenary - Stellar btw - and I had no idea Franco Nero was still kicking. I now have a reason to watch the Popes Exorcist.

Appreciating the Looney Tunes show more and more as I get older. Enjoyed it at release but I think I love it now.

Not much spooky viewing this year, but plan to binge all day. Still, a brilliant Japanese raw punk film, revisiting a classic, an explosive modern classic, and finally watched the wonderful Elaine May duo of Falk & Cassavettes have given me a lot to think about.

Busy few weeks, but glad I finally watched this string of films. Interesting to see how Argentos evolved as a filmmaker. Eagerly awaiting future Louis-Seize projects. And wow. Last Unicorn. Just wonderful.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched Great week of near coming of age movies. A posh Edwardian romance to break up a week of dread and adolescent angst and confusion.

Self censorship, libraries and stores pulling titles or not stocking them, publishers declining works, etc. is a common result of censorship laws.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched Two absolute banger films and a fun few others. Night of the Hunter is burned into my mind as a new favorite. La Bamba is heart wrenching and almost too relatable. Weapons I enjoyed, a bit luke warm towards, but I find myself thinking about it a lot. FF was cool.

I get so bummed out when I'm scrolling through my steam library and I eye over Marvel Heroes Omega. Every single time.

Onimusha is one of those games i admired from afar. From Game magazine articles, to constantly seeing Jean Reno on 3 at flea markets across town. Never played any of them, though.

Saw this for the first time last month, and I absolutely wish I could be there for this. Funny and surprisingly emotional. Hope people talk about it more.
So thrilled to present this offbeat gem next Friday with @bobfreelander.bsky.social

New upload! A treat from the 90s, this is the first opening animation from The Kindaichi Case Files, scanned in 4K from a 16mm rush print by us! A rare sight for a TV anime from the era, this is the first time any HD footage of this show has been seen! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hlo2...

Horror in tough times helps, especially psychosexual deep dives within a marriage a la Black Room. Unhinged meandered but the exposition was fascinating and the finale blew me away–Worth. Ben Foster is king in Hostage, and Z channel was inspiring and heartbreaking.

Been an emotionally complicated week, and I think these films reflect that. A strangely prescient anime charged with the current state of the world, a surreal purgatory-esque depiction of cinema and life, a ruthless fun western classic, and a somber American dream.
