There is a Hookland dialect word – stilfer - which means a place that presents as calm, but holds hidden terror. The longer I spend in the county, the better I get at recognising sites of stilfer. Locations that camouflage their terrors with a blanket of false tranquility. – #MattAdams, 1981 #WOTD
