Having recently made the jump from RStudio to Positron, I am struggling to go back to using RS in a TRE. What do you mean my code isn't self-formatting every time I hit save?

I just feel like the 'negotiations' between the US and Russia are going to result in Ukraine getting a worse-than-shit deal. Ukraine will reject it and the US will use it as a pre-text to stop any support to Ukraine bc UA rejected the deal.

If a scientist who uses a microscope in their work never learns how to use a microscope, we find them a new career.

If a scientist uses statistics in their work but never learns how to use statistics, we promote them even faster, and let them decide how other people should use statistics.

The common theme is poor quality police work (in the US), especially in rural areas where small police forces don't have the skills and experience to investigate a murder. I wonder how many crimes there are where a defendant has been acquitted and police are no longer looking for anyone else?
Netflix’s true crime industry reveals most famously unsolved murders are really badly investigated murders. Make sure to do your murder in small community with few homicides so local police are overwhelmed. By the time FBI arrive it’s a goat rodeo of contamination, lost evidence & lawyers.

I really hope that bsky adds some sort of verification soon. With the influx, I can't always tell if a public figure's account is genuine.

Is this platform pronounced blue-sky (like the where clouds are) or blue-ski (giving it a slight Russian feel)? Maybe a debate for our time like the pronunciation of Stata?

Hi, can you help me? I want to develop a model that makes risk predictions.

Use logistic regression.

Can I use some more modern techniques, like AI?

Use a neural network with single non-hidden feed forward layer that outputs to a single dimension using a sigmoid activation function.

Not to be a scrooge but there is nothing wrong with dynamic/surge pricing if you are upfront with the cost (e.g., flights, uber). In the case of Oasis (and potentially O'Neils) is that the point you find that the price has risen is the point where is is too late.

The party that is obsessed with child sex offenders, & is close to a cult that claims child sex offenders run the government, just nominated a guy once investigated for allegedly sex-trafficking a 17 year old girl to be in charge of the country’s legal system.

I find that every time the Health Sec says that the NHS has to reform in order to get more cash, absolutely no progress is made and managers continue to be demonised. Any minor improvements are then shouted about to high heaven.
