What baffles me about Musk's apparent view that AI will do everything is that one of his favorite books as a kid was Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, a book one of whose points is that if you ask computers the wrong questions, they will give you the wrong answers. WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY TRUE OF AI.
The millenarian belief that computer superintelligence is just around the corner—and that tech oligarchs will control it thereby being able to accomplish just about anything without needing human labor as if they own a genie—does actually appear to be a relevant factor in Musk and Co.’s behavior.

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.
