They sell a charcoal crust pizza here. From what I understand, it helps prevent coprophagy

I firmly believe that what this country meeds is more 50-year-old medical/professional buildings with creaky elevators and dusty, weirdly off-brand pharmacies with dingy carpets!

And sandwich stands in the lobby you would never ever buy from!!

While Amazon is investing billions of dollars to expand AI, independent bookstores are hosting community events, personally recommending books to readers, and providing a space that is safe and welcoming during a time when we need them most.

Never underestimate the power of a local bookstore.

If this story took place today they would just use their cell phones to fix the problem ❌️

If this story took place today, the writers would have to come up with some excuse why their phones don't work ✅️

Six years ago today, the wedding!
Eleven years ago (yesterday) I went into a Tim Hortons to meet a girl I had been texting with after she started messaging me through our mutual friend's phone, for what we all agreed was *not* a date.

At the end of the night, I kissed her on the cheek and five years later we got married. Oops!

When I saw Jim Jarmusch's BROKEN FLOWERS in the theatre, it was just me, my brother, and a pair of older ladies who were audibly scandalized by the brief nudity from then-20-year-old Alexis Dziena.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

One thing I wish I had learned in Journalism school -- which was twenty years ago and seemingly multiple lifetimes for me peronally -- is pitching. It's a huge part of the job but I think it's assumed it will just be part of people's nature.

The AI guys found the cheat code to capitalism. Steal from massive corporations, then get those corporations to pay you impossible sums of money for what you've stolen, while giving them nothing, doing nothing of value for anybody, and destroying the Earth. Wild, horrible times to be alive.
