Mel and I watch a lot of Amazing Race Canada, and often discuss which challenges we would do, and it turns out we would mostly stay home

I guess I'll go with ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND because to people like me, seeing a Charlie Kaufman film was a no-brainer but all my high school friends found out about this film way later.
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

If I had a time machine, I wouldn't do anything major to the timeline, I'd just record a bunch of destined-for-obscurity songs that kinda-sorta sounded partially like future hits so I could sue big artist later.

There are more obvious symptoms of the failure of humanity than the disappearance of frozen concentrate, but it goes to show the evidence is all around you.

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

The movie Y2K does not have a lot of virtues, but Durst chilling with NB actor Lachlan Watson playing a Limp Bizkit superfan was among them
I think we really need to thank Fred Durst for pioneering gender exploration in 2000 by identifying no less than 9 distinct genders

Ladies
Fellas
The People That Don't Give a Fuck
The Lovers
The Haters
The People That Call Themselves Players
Hot Mamas
Pimp Daddies
The People Rollin' Up in Caddies

Does “Chilli Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band” sound more like they play Beatles songs in the style of RHCP, or RHCP songs in the style of The Beatles?

Either way, very cursed and I hate it. But my dumb brain had to think it, so now you have to read it.

A grasshoper walks into a bar and hops up onto a seat.

Bartender: "Hey, we have a drink named after you!"

Grasshopper: "You have a drink named Tom Collins?"

Bartender: "Y... wh... y-yes...?"

This is by no means a curative, and I'm in Canada anyway, but the Hut was my and Mel's go-to for YEARS until they hit the BDS lists in late 2023.

Am I saying the thousands we would have spent since then would have saved them? Well, it wouldn't have hurt.

Great long title for a not-great song:

"Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip" by Nirvana
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

Obviously "It's The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" by R.E.M.

But special shout out to "We'll Make Time (Even If There Isn't Any Time)" by Hawksley Workman

I'm doing some e-learning with an A.I. "instructor" (barf, I know) and the voice my head seems to have ascribed to it is extremely grating. Like, "Weird Al being an annoying character for a bit" type of thing.

In better news: Mel hasn't been feeling well today so Hank has been cuddling with her in bed instead of asking me for things and that's great.

The universe sent me an unmistakable sign that I didn't need to torture myself any further when the sound cut out twenty minutes into Melania. I nevertheless feel qualified to say it's the worst movie ever made. nathanrabin.substack.com/p/i-walked-o...

This review by @nathanrabin.bsky.social is one of the best bits of film criticism I have seen in a long while and a reminder that he's still one of the best out there. (Support him any way you can!)

Well, somehow, complete dingus that I am, I crunched my phone in a car door last night. Time to find out if it's even fixable and what kind of terrible price I've got to pay.

Very annoying that the song "Montgomery Clift" by Random Hold is not available on Tidal, therefore dooming this playlist ro incompleteness.

I don't fux with WWE anymore really, but I did see a video of Kit Wilson's theme song and if that guy can even kinda work he's halfway to superstardom.
