One of my first big SE jobs had a dynamic I described as the team being asked by leadership to "bake a cake that does calculus" and then delivering "a pie that just sits there" and in 10 years working vendor-side I've found sometimes you need to convince the customer the pie is really calculus cake.

Law profs learn the concept of nuisance value and how it has more impact on citizen behavior than any blackletter law challenge 2025 [IMPOSSIBLE]
Letting individuals sue X and Meta (and Blsky, sure) in tort -- returning platforms to the same status as other corporate defendants -- will let juries weigh in on what constitutes reasonable platform behavior. Average people recapture voice in this space, and corps insure to shift some of the risk.
Democracy is burning, and we need sites like Bluesky more than ever. And Senator Durbin wants to repeal 230, which would massively stifle the ability of sites like Bluesky to exist, while massively empowering X and Meta.

This is a backdoor. Elon's coders are creating a backdoor into the US Treasury. This is incredibly dangerous both because of its intended use (by Elon and Trump) and the risk of other actors exploiting a major security vulnerability to cause a massive disruption to the US government.

They evacuated Santa Monica which is not some nestled-away-in-the-mountains richie rich enclave. It's a regular ass neighborhood with regular ass people and businesses etc.
