I think you can have a balance of those things though. I hope that a balance of materials can be used as a starting point — teachers are responsible for the ‘fruitful encounter’ with the content, but are given a starting point from which to consider their children.

Yes, I think you’re right. It’s also an acknowledgement that we don’t have a lot of time in schools. What we ask teachers to attend to matters. If we can provide access to a high quality starting point, then we ask teachers to attend to adapting, rather than making the same things loads of times.
