Y6 teachers/SLT

When SATs results become available, download your pupils' papers from the portal - they make for a very useful tool in explaining how to/how not to answer questions - especially for the 3 markers on the reading paper.

Some Y6 SATs advice...

Teach pupils, that whenever there is a multiple-choice question, they must go through each of them and eliminate the wrong answers as well as looking for the right answer. Prevents a lot of errors in my experience.

Looking forward to it!
Last bit for now (it’s a work in progress) is to welcome @morgsedu.bsky.social to our trust conference day after half term to build on Jade’s work in the context of task design as part of our wider curriculum work with @pkckst.bsky.social

We are very lucky to have Danny teaching in our trust!
This teacher had me, and all of the class, waiting with bated breath to hear how the neighbouring European empires were responding to the revolutionary activity in France.

Children were talking about what might be motivating the monarchs nearby. Everyone was learning TONS.

What do you do when the headteacher says you have to move on with the tour, but you just can’t bring yourself to leave the classroom?

That’s the position that I was in yesterday at West London Free School Primary.

Year 5 were learning about the Napeolonic Wars and I was on the edge of my seat.

I've pre-ordered my copy!
My new book, Primary Reading Simplified, is released this Monday.

Briefly, I'd like to explain why it exists, who I think will find it useful and where you can find it.

Charlotte should have said that Frankie was the traitor because she only counted 3 minutes to stop the coin task early rather than the full 5. I was screaming at the TV for her to make that play!
