Not just you! Many reasons tho, not least we didn't know what we didn't know generally, but also less email, less understanding of SEND/the brain, less angst overall?... also agree with reasons above.

Totally.

I've just very geekily curated my own playlist pilfering the ones at are particularly nostalgic for me. 🤓

Squishy McFluff - Pip Jones/Ella Okstad
Claude Books - Alex T Smith
Iggy and Me - Jenny Valentine

All series of books.

Iggy and Me perhaps keep for a year or so but for us and many others it was like Jenny Valentine had been spying on us as a family and used the materials for the book :D

I think you can have a balance of those things though. I hope that a balance of materials can be used as a starting point — teachers are responsible for the ‘fruitful encounter’ with the content, but are given a starting point from which to consider their children.

Yes, I think you’re right. It’s also an acknowledgement that we don’t have a lot of time in schools. What we ask teachers to attend to matters. If we can provide access to a high quality starting point, then we ask teachers to attend to adapting, rather than making the same things loads of times.

Maybe then it's more a question of leadership / culture - how to promote ownership but not necessarily authorship of lessons and materials.

Ownership
Not necessarily authorship
Yes exactly.

Of course.

Think that's the sum total experience for some younger teachers though. 😢
