Can someone explain to me N/A Vodka? I understand N/A Gin, N/A Whiskey, etc, but isn't vodka supposed to just have like a neutral taste and minimal burn?

My family seems to think I am stressed out because Democrats aren't in charge to give academia more money. I worked my ass off to get this cushy academic job that involves much longer hours for below-industry pay specifically because I want to get a raise. That makes sense.

One of the last steps before submitting a paper to any peer reviewed conference: Going over the paper and replacing every wrong instance of "it's" with "its" that I inevitably inserted.

I'm really happy I got my PhD in time for the US government to start officially vilifying education.

AI causing the fall of civilization in most Sci-fi media tends to be because AI grew smarter than the majority of Humanity.
I find it impressive that what is actually happening is that there are just a lot of people taking active steps to grow dumber than the AI.

I was telling a few jokes and someone told me I'd need to pay them at least 3 pennies to keep telling those jokes, or they'll beat me up. There goes my cents of humor.

Anime villain arcs don't really hit the same now that I've been through graduate school and experienced a good 95% of them firsthand.

If AI can make content so much better than humans, why would I use Buzzfeed to provide my AI generated instead of prompting the AI to directly generate the content I want that is specifically tailored to me? Optimistically, you're investing in making your company obsolete.
That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."

Installing an #AI into #Snapchat makes no sense to me. Installing Snapchat implies I have someone better to talk to than that AI.

I applaud this stance. Applying an algorithm trained on stolen works is the same as applying a filter to stolen works.
That being said, its hard to see if the stance is enforceable since bad actors may ignore it, as AI often obfuscates exactly who it is stealing from.

We recently shared Bluesky’s stance on user data and AI training, which has not changed. Bluesky will not train generative AI on user data. bsky.app/profile/bsky...

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.

It took less than 10 minutes after opening my recently printed and bound dissertation before I spotted a typo. Seems about right.
